Daniel Alves said goodbye, this Wednesday (15), from Barcelona. However, he did not reveal his destiny, only that “it closes a very beautiful cycle and opens an even more challenging one”. The player returned to the club in November last year, after his first spell between 2008 and 2016.
“Dear coolies… Now it’s time for our farewell. It was more than 8 years dedicated to that club, those colors and that house, but like everything in life, the years pass, the paths diverge and the stories are written for some time in different places – and that was it”, declared Alves.
“Many more years passed until football and life, which as always, are very grateful to those who respect them, decided to give me the opportunity to come back here to say goodbye,” he continued.
In the Catalan team, the winger won three FIFA Club World Cups, three UEFA Champions League, three UEFA Super Cups, six Spanish Championships, four Copa del Rey and four Spanish Super Cups.
The player returned to Catalonia after a tumultuous departure from São Paulo. He was released on September 10 after his representatives informed the board of the São Paulo tricolor that he would not return to the club until there was an adjustment of the financial debt between the two parties.
