Ecuador recorded, on Friday night (12), the escape of six more prisoners who were in the Litoral penitentiary, in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The incident takes place in the same prison complex from where the country's most dangerous criminal, Adolfo Macías, known as “Fito”, managed to escape.
The country's national police reported that, in total, six prisoners escaped from the penitentiary and began land, river and air patrols in the area. So far, two have been recaptured.

Several prisoners have escaped from prisons since the security crisis intensified in Ecuador last weekend. Before this new escape, the National Service for Comprehensive Attention to Persons Deprived of Liberty in Ecuador (Snai) reported that 25 fugitives had been recaptured.
Almost 180 prison officers are still held hostage in Ecuadorian prisons.
