The leader of a criminal faction operating in Ceará was located in Curaçá, a city located in the north of Bahia and 600 kilometers from Salvador. The arrest took place on Thursday (7), in the district of Barra Funda, a rural area of the municipality, where the man was hiding, whose identity was not disclosed.
According to information from the Public Security Secretariat, the man, who had three outstanding arrest warrants, leads a faction that operates in the Cariri region, in the south of Ceará. With him, the police found five tablets of cocaine.
The arrest occurred in an integrated intelligence action by the Security Forces of Bahia and Ceará, which is also investigating a possible connection between drug traffickers from the two states.
