A couple reports that they were attacked with punches, kicks and hangings inside the bathroom of a bar in Ceilândia (DF) in the early hours of Tuesday (1st). The case was registered as bodily injury, homophobia and insult.
The victim told the police that she went to the bar with her boyfriend and noticed that an unknown man was laughing and making comments about her.
According to the report, at one point funk music started playing and the man asked the victim’s boyfriend to dance on stage. When the attacker refused, he began a series of homophobic insults.
Then the physical attacks began. The suspect and several friends approached and pushed the couple into the men’s bathroom, where they were both attacked.
In a statement, Original Eskina Bae stated that what happened to him was a case “totally outside the reality of the bar”, which, according to the text, “usually receives different audiences, including LGBTQIA+”.
The establishment states that the Military Police and the Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called to speed up hospital care. “We are ready to collaborate with any police investigation so that the attackers are punished,” stated Eskina Bae.
The Special Police Station for the Repression of Crimes for Racial, Religious or Sexual Orientation Discrimination or Against Elderly Persons or Persons with Disabilities (Decrin) investigates the case.
