Couple accused of assuming identity of children killed in the United States

A Hawaiian couple has been indicted for allegedly living for decades under the identities of deceased Texas children and conspiring against the government, according to federal court records.

A federal grand jury in Honolulu indicted Walter Glenn Primrose and Gwynn Darle Morrison with conspiracy, aggravated identity theft, and misrepresentation in applying for and using passports. Morrison was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday (2).

A statement alleges that in 1987, both defendants obtained Texas birth certificate records of deceased U.S.-born babies, which they “used to unlawfully assume the identities of ‘Bobby Edward Fort’ and ‘Julie Lyn Montague'”.

It is said in the complaint that they “agreed to assume the identities of babies who were born in the United States but passed away, and have lived fully in these fraudulently assumed identities since 1987.”

The real Bobby Edward Fort was born in 1967 and died the same year of asphyxiation, being buried in Texas, the affidavit states. The real Julie Lyn Montague was born and died in 1968, also buried in Texas, about four miles from the Ft.

Federal prosecutors also say they have pictures of Primrose and Morrison in a KGB jacket, used as part of a motion to deny the couple bail.

Morrison’s attorney, Megan Kau, told Hawaii News Now, an affiliate of the CNN, that the client is “shocked” by the accusations. “She has nothing to do with Russia,” she pointed out.

Kau stated that the KGB jacket did not belong to them: “She tried on a uniform that was at a friend’s house once and they took pictures. She was born and raised in the United States and wants the world to know that she is not a spy.”

A close friend of Morrison’s pointed out to federal agents that she lived in Romania years ago “while that country was within the communist bloc.” No passport records in her name, which would allow her to travel internationally, were found by the State Department, the motion states.

Meanwhile, a motion to arrest the man without bail was granted on July 28, a court document shows.

Prosecutors have filed a motion to detain the defendants on the grounds that there is a serious risk of flight and that Primrose has been secretly authorized as a defense contractor at the US Coast Guard Air Station (USCG) in Oahu, Hawaii, for six years.

The application also notes that Primrose had secret authorization as an electrical avionics technician at the station, and was required to report any trips abroad. However, an investigation revealed that he did not report multiple trips to Canada, although he did for other trips.

The motion added that through his work at the USCG, he “has become highly skilled in electronics and would be able to communicate with others if released from pre-trial confinement.”

Primrose is currently in the custody of the US Marshals Service at the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu, according to his detention hearing. A preliminary telephone hearing is scheduled for August 8.

Dennis K. Thomas, a State Department special agent for the US Diplomatic Security Service, alleges in the complaint that the couple “illegally assumed the identities of deceased United States citizens” to apply for US passports, social security and US Department ID documents. of Defense.

Primrose’s attorney, Max Mizono, said in an email to CNN : “I have no comments or statements about his case.”
