Country, funk or pagode? See the 100 most played songs in 2023

Throughout 2023, several different Brazilian hits took off on social media. From funk to rock, including the infinity of genres that represent the national music scene, there was no shortage of good music this year.

According to a report by Crowley, a company that has been operating in the country since 1997 with electronic radio monitoring, the country music song emerged in the ranking of the 100 most listened to songs over these twelve months.

Taking first place on the list is singer Gusttavo Lima with the song “Desejo Imortal”. The track, released in April, is a Portuguese version of the international hit “It Must Have Been Love”, by Swedish pop rock duo Roxette, which debuted in 1987.

Soon after, “Erro Gostoso”, by Simone Mendes, released at the beginning of the year. The song marked a new phase in the singer's career, after the end of the musical duo with her sister Simaria.

The track “Leão”, by the eternal Marília Mendonça, who died in a plane crash in the Serra da Caratinga, in the interior of Minas Gerais, in November 2021, reached third place. The success is part of the EP “Decretos Reais”, composed by Geizon Carlos da Cruz Fernandes.

In fourth place, Zé Neto & Cristiano appeared with the single “Oi Balde”, a song chosen for the duo to begin the promotional work for the album “Escolha”, released in February.

“Traumatizei”, by Henrique & Juliano completes the Top 5 of the ranking. At first, the track follows the story of someone who understands the traumas that caused the life of their great love during the period of their relationship.

In the ranking, there was a single tie: “Ela” by Sorriso Maroto with Ferrugem and “Pra Ficar Sozinho”, by Murilo Huff with Maiara & Maraisa. The two songs occupy 97th position, making the ranking therefore have 99 positions, despite having 100 songs.
