The indicator of Cost of Living by Social Class (CVCS) of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo fell by 0.18% in July, informed this Wednesday (31) the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of the State (FecomercioSP).
The result breaks a 25-month streak that began in May 2020.
According to the entity, the reduction in the cost of living was disseminated among social classes. The biggest drop, 4.10%, was observed in class E families. For class A, the decrease in the cost of living was 1.86%.
The biggest price reduction in July was recorded in the Transport group (-2.92%), driven by cuts in gasoline (-13.6%) and ethanol (-10.8%).
The behavior of prices reflects the limitation of the ICMS rate on fuels to 17% and the drop in oil on the international market, according to the entity.
The household articles group also recorded a drop in July, of 0.94%, due to the items computer (-3.30%), television (-1.80%) and bedding (-1.70%).
On the other hand, food and beverages (0.89%), housing (0.49%), clothing (0.88%), health (0.66%) and personal expenses (1.75%) increased in the month. Education and communication were stable (0.0%).
