Eurozone consumer confidence has fallen to -15.5 points in its preliminary estimate for October, reaching below expectations of -15 and falling from -13.9 points in the previous month.
This level is the lowest in five months, since falling to -18.8 points in the May reading.

The EUR / USD pair has not had any reaction to the publication of the data, since Investors’ attention remains on the additional US tax aid package and the final presidential debate that will take place tonight between the current president, Donald Trump, and the candidate Joe Biden.
Consumer confidence
Consumer confidence published by the statistics office of the European Commission is a survey on consumer confidence in economic activity in the region. It is an indicator about the trend of the economy in general. A result higher than anticipated is bullish for the euro, while a lower result is bearish for the currency.
