Congonhas Airport, in the south of São Paulo, recorded 112 canceled flights between Thursday (7) and Saturday morning (9), due to the heavy rains that affected the capital of São Paulo. According to Aena Brasil, the concessionaire that manages the airport, operations were normalized this morning.
This Saturday, the scenario in Congonhas is normal, in contrast to the chaos of previous days, when passengers faced long queues and spent the night in the lobby.
On Friday, 38 flights had been canceled by 4pm (21 arrivals and 17 departures) and five were diverted, due to weather conditions and adjustments to airline networks. On Thursday, there were 32 flight cancellations, also due to the rains that hit the capital.
Aena reported that six flights were canceled today, including one takeoff and five landings, as part of adjustments made by the airlines. The concessionaire advises passengers to confirm the status of their flights directly with the companies.
On Thursday, adverse weather conditions resulted in the cancellation of 32 flights (16 arrivals and 16 departures). On Friday (8), the number of cancellations was 74, with 31 takeoffs and 43 landings.
