“Conclave” returns to theaters after Pope Francis’ death

The movie “Conclave” winner of Oscar 2025 for best adapted script returned to theaters after Pope Francis’ death. The film shows in some Brazilian cities starting this Thursday (24).

Adaptation of the novel of Robert Harris “Conclave” follows Cardinal Lawrence, lived by Ralph Fiennes (The Voldemort in “Harry Potter”), which is responsible for supervising the election of a new Pope after the sudden death of the church leader.

History exposes a fierce dispute of power between important Catholic Church figures, while the protagonist faces secrets and conspiracies throughout this confidential process.

In addition to Fiennes, the cast has Stanley Tucci (“The Devil wears Prada”), John Lithgow (“The Crown”) and Isabella Rossellini (“Blue velvet”).
