“Conclave” is the most assisted production of Prime Video in Brazil

The movie “Conclave” took over the top 1 of the most watched productions of the Prime Video streaming platform in Brazil This Monday (21), after the news of the news of Pope Francis’ death.

The Oscar -nominated film 2025 – and the best adapted script winner – is based on the book of the same name of British writer Robert Harris, who imagines what the election of the next Pope would be like.

With a conclave about to be summoned to define Francisco’s successor, the public’s interest in this process involved in mystery, tradition and politics seems to grow.

Edward Berger’s film has arrived at streaming this month and is available to Prime Video subscribers.

The plot follows Cardinal Lawrence, lived by Ralph Fiennes who receives the responsibility of supervising the election of a new Pope after the sudden death of the church leader.

This process ends up exposing a fierce dispute of power between important Catholic Church figures that are divided between conservatism and progressivism, while the protagonist faces secrets and conspiracies throughout the confidential vote.
