In an interview with CNNthis Tuesday (5th), the economics professor at Insper Paulo Furquim said that “the concern is now with Petrobras’ strategic directions”, since many uncertainties revolve around the new name that should be appointed to take charge of the state-owned company, after the withdrawal of economist Adriano Pires.
In addition, Furquim understands that a name should have already been chosen to occupy the position. “Usually, when there is a replacement of a CEO of a company, for example, the replacement already exists before the current occupant is fired,” he said.
Finally, the professor clarifies that the company will continue operating, even if a decision on the new president may be delayed. “It is a company with a very solid structure and with career positions, there is not very high turnover there”.
However, Furquim makes a warning. “The problem is the strategic directions, in particular, the fuel price policy that should be adopted. On this, we do not know in which direction Petrobras will go”, he concludes.
