CNN Poll: Kamala and Trump are tied 11 days before the US elections

The race for the White House remains tied 11 days before the elections, according to the latest national poll by CNN . The survey, conducted by SSRS, reveals that 47% of likely voters support Vice President Kamala Harris, and an equal 47% support former President Donald Trump.

The research of the CNN revealed a fierce dispute during the short campaign between Kamala and Trump. In September, likely voters split 48% support for the Democrat and 47% for the Republican, a rate almost identical to the new poll.

Furthermore, a survey shortly after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and gave his support to Kamala indicated that Trump had 49% of registered voters’ voting intentions, against 46% for the vice president.

Kamala also likely won more votes than Trump so far, given Democrats’ greater propensity to vote early or by mail, according to the poll.

Most voters have already made up their minds

The electoral race has been remarkably stable throughout this tumultuous political year. The survey reveals that 85% of likely voters who have already made up their minds say they always knew which party they would support in the presidential elections, and only 15% responded that they changed their minds along the way.

Now, an even greater level of people have already made up their minds: Just 2% of all likely voters say they haven’t yet chosen a candidate, and another 9% say they could change their minds before voting.

Voters who comment that their choices are defined now divide 50% support for Kama Harris against 49% for Donald Trump, with just 1% supporting other candidates.

Motivation to vote

Voters who might change their minds lean toward Trump and are much more likely than decided voters to support independent and minor-party candidates (38% support Trump, 31% Kamala, 30% someone else).

They are also much less motivated to vote than those who have already made a decision.

While 70% of likely voters who say they are determined say they are “extremely motivated” to vote, that number drops to 27% among those who could change their minds.

Early voting

The research of CNN was held between October 20 and 23, after early voting was already well underway across the country.

The poll found that 20% of likely voters who say they have already voted split at 61% supporting Kamala Harris and 36% supporting Donald Trump, while those who say they have not yet voted support Trump at 50%. to 44%.
