An average of recent election polls conducted by CNN shows a tight race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election.
The survey is an average of the six most recent nonpartisan national surveys of registered or likely voters (in the U.S. voting is not compulsory) that meet the standards of the CNN and ask about a 2024 presidential general election matchup between Harris and Trump.
The results show that Trump has 48% support in an average of six recent polls, while Harris holds 47%.
Each poll was conducted after the presidential debate. CNN last month and only one — the CBS/YouGov poll — was after the July 13 assassination attempt on Trump.
Polls including independent or third-party candidates are not included. When a pollster releases multiple polls in that period, only the most recent one is included in the average.
The average includes results from the following surveys:
- CBS News/YouGov, conducted July 16-18
- NBC News, conducted July 7–9
- Fox News, conducted July 7-10
- NPR/PBS News/Marist College, conducted July 9-10
- ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos, conducted July 5-9
- and the research CNN, conducted from June 28 to 30.
