CNN Brasil website reaches record audience in October

The website of CNN Brazil recorded a record audience in October, when war broke out in Israel. There were 34.69 million unique users on the platform.

With this result, the CNN rose to third place in the Similarweb ranking in the “News & Media” category.

With just over three years on the air, the news website CNN It even surpassed an old portal, Terra — fourth in the ranking, with 31.2 million.

A CNN It also surpassed Metrópoles (24.6 million), behind only the portals Globo.com (80.2 million) and UOL (71.8 million).

The website of CNN It also presented the highest growth rate in the semester in terms of the number of unique users among the top five in the market.

In five months, the CNN rose from 8th position and took 3rd place in number of unique visitors.

In the last quarter (August to October), the growth of the CNN Brazil in relation to the previous period (May to July) it was 86%, the highest rate among the top 5 in the ranking.

Since May, the evolution has been increasing, starting from eighth place in the same ranking, until reaching third place in October.

A CNN is also reaping the fruits of the reformulation of its digital news platform, with organic growth in unique visitors.

The website redesign was guided by an understanding of the user experience and the concern to ensure greater relevance for brands.

“This shows that the audience liked the changes. We grew 38% in unique visitors and 27% in visits, more than double the second place in growth in the category”, says Sérgio Maria.

The Vice President of Digital and Innovation also highlights the debut of the exclusive session CNN Brands space reserved for brands on the website, and the use of webstories on the home page.

“We highlighted the most important articles right at the beginning of the page, providing greater clarity in the segmentation of editorials, causing a significant improvement in loading time, with greater emphasis on videos, removal of all intrusive advertising and greater exclusivity of advertising with formats greater impact”, he explains.

CNN digital take-off

The consistent growth of the entire digital ecosystem of CNN Brazil The recent distribution of messages through the new Whatsapp channel, which began in September, was also promoted.

Since its launch, just over three years ago, the CNN Brazil shows an upward trajectory in the audience ranking.

In the month of its debut, in March 2020, the CNN Brazil accounted for only 4% of the total number of unique visitors to the most read news sites in Brazil. The exponential growth recorded until October 2023 is the result of a strategy that involves operations, journalism and business.
