In an old-fashioned little house with a white facade, wooden tables and only a small and discreet sign with the design of a bottle of wine, is one of those gems that Sao Paulo offers.
O Clos Bar à Vin led by the duo Elisa Fernandes and Guilherme Mendes combines refined wine curation with uncomplicated French-accented cuisine.
Like any wine bar, obviously, the focus is on the labels, but it’s impossible to leave without being enchanted by its dishes.
As soon as you enter, a bar welcomes diners and makes it clear that there is no drink or mixology there, the owners of the place are the wines .
Going up the stairs, choose one of the few tables and sit facing the kitchen open to the public or the big window overlooking the treetops of Rua Girassol. In both cases, we guarantee: you will be welcomed.

The menu is short, designed for snacking, sharing and enjoying every bite with good company and, of course, a nice glass in your hands.
Among the small selection of artisanal cheeses with honey and bread (R$56) with couvert, it is also worth ordering the oysters with ponzu sauce (R$36 – double); gravilax, cured fish with candied tomato and fermented tomato salsa finished with salicornia, also known as “sea asparagus”; wild rice popcorn (R$59); and the paratha, an Indian flatbread served with toasted onions, boursin cheese and smoked oil (R$68).

As main dishes, it is worth ordering the mussels with impeccable sauce and fries (R$ 76); the grilled sea bass with bercy sauce and sautéed vegetables (R$ 78); and the grilled and almost caramelized cauliflower with watercress pesto (R$62).
It is important to point out that the desserts are unmissable. Save room in your stomach for the coffee cake with dates, coffee toffee and salted whipped cream (R$36) and the pistachio tartlet with fresh raspberries (R$38), and finish the meal on a high note.

About the big stars of the house, the wines there are approximately 140 labels handpicked by the mixed wine importer of natural, biodynamic or organic wines.
leave the sommelier Gustavo indicate which pairs best with the chosen dish and take the opportunity to get to know different labels, as they can all be ordered by the glass (there is also an option of bottles).
A petit environment and perfect for an intimate meeting with no time to end.
