Civil police from the 12th Police Station (Copacabana) arrested on Thursday (17) the fugitive from justice Yuri dos Santos Ribeiro, accused of involvement in Four homicides qualified. The action was coordinated by delegate Ângelo Lages and had the intelligence work of the unit.
According to investigations, Yuri is a member of one of the largest criminal factions of Rio de Janeiro and was performing as executor of rivals and disaffections of the organization. According to the Civil Police, the group of which Yuri was part of it is responsible for at least 21 homicides committed between 2017 and 2021. Among the cronies are Higor da Silva, with 36 criminal notes, and Douglas Vieira, with 45 police tickets. Both have 14 open pre -trial detention warrants and are on the run, as well as Kaique da Silva Pires, another member of the criminal organization.
Group leader André Luís dos Santos Affonso was arrested in February 2022, while his fellow Flávio Igor has been in custody since March 2021.
Yuri’s arrest represents another important step in the dismantling of the cell responsible for a series of executions in the state. The Civil Police follows in the search for other fugitives and reinforces the importance of the collaboration of the population through anonymous complaints.
