Security is the most important part of any project. It doesn’t matter if it is small or large, it is necessary to maintain the physical integrity of the professionals involved and respect for the environment and surrounding structures.
According to Public Ministry of Labor, more than 450 construction workers die each year in Brazil. And the best way to change this reality is prevention.
That is why the Confea/Crea System aims to guarantee that all projects involving engineering, agronomy and geosciences are carried out by registered technical professionals.
In a pioneering action, the current management of the Confea/Crea System, chaired by Telecommunications Engineer Vinicius Marchese, created the National Enforcement Task Force to integrate, share expertise, standardize procedures and improve these actions, which guarantee more assertiveness in the services provided to the population.
According to Vinicius Marchese, President of Confea, “one of the main reasons is to strengthen supervision throughout the country, ensuring that all Creas evolve together”. Furthermore, training tax agents is a fundamental part of the project. The exchange of experiences and know-how During the Task Force period, this will happen naturally, as collaborators from all over the country will be gathered in the same city to carry out a broad inspection of a given modality.
This guarantees greater security to society, through guidance work, at the same time that it makes the Confea/Crea System increasingly known by the population, who come to understand not only the importance of this Council, but also the fundamental role that the professional in the technological field plays a role in the development of Brazil.
The first Task Force will be held between June 17th and 19th, in Salvador, Bahia. “In recent years, we have been following the work of Crea-BA, and its president, Engineer Agrimemsor Joseval Carqueija, in partnership with the Public Ministry of Labor, in preventing accidents, mainly on construction sites where technical activity is present. Therefore, this National Task Force will also carry out preventive work, so that professionals at these construction sites have greater security. And the intensive inspection will have an educational bias, because the inspectors will demonstrate to the residents of Bahia the importance of the presence of a professional with specialized technical knowledge in the supervision, coordination and execution of engineering works and services”, says Marchese.
Another objective of the National Task Force in Bahia is to ensure that high-risk ventures comply with technical norms and safety standards, as highlighted by the president of Crea-BA, Joseval Carqueija, who will host the initiative, “the priority is to prevent accidents, for Therefore, the focus of the action will be compliance with Regulatory Standard NR-35, which establishes requirements and prevention measures for working at heights, covering planning, organization and execution, in order to ensure the safety and health of workers involved directly or indirectly. with this activity.”
This action will be carried out on two fronts, according to the Ethics and Professional Practice Commission (Ceep). One of the fronts will be the inspection of civil construction works that are using equipment that requires technical responsibility in assembly, operation and disassembly, such as cranes, racks and rockers.
“Another front will be carried out in already inhabited, residential and commercial buildings, where there are works and services for facade renovation, washing, cleaning and recovery of expansion joints and grouting. In this case, the agents will advise on the importance of these activities being carried out based on the design and installation of anchoring equipment with a Technical Responsibility Note, and that they have an emergency and rescue plan, in addition to a building inspection report”, points out the coordinator from Ceep, electrical engineer Sérgio Maurício Cardoso.
In this first action, the work of the Creas inspectors will also be reinforced by agents from the Public Ministry of Labor. “While the Confea/Crea System will verify whether the works and services have engineering professionals responsible for issuing projects, the Public Ministry of Labor will check compliance with the requirements of NR-35 and, in case of non-compliance with rules, the MPT could paralyze the work”, explains the Inspection Coordinator of CREA-BA, mechanical engineer Michele Costa, who was already in charge of Ceep at CONFEA. The expectation is that the National Inspection Task Force will also have the participation of agents from Civil Defense, the Fire Department, the Occupational Health Reference Center, among other bodies.
