From the outside, the Sacred Heart Church in Princeton, Ontario, Canada, looks like an ordinary church, but inside it hides a house of more than 330 square meters.
It was built in 1888, but was purchased by couple Jonathon Harmer and Lynn Perreault of renovations and renovations Harper and Co. in 2018. 8 months to complete,” Lynnn tells CNN .
Lynnn’s brother Jean-Marc Perreault was the general contractor and brought the couple’s ideas to life. “We moved and the Covid-19 pandemic took hold. It took two months in 2020 to complete the exterior work, which consisted of a workshop and porch. We had to take a break during Covid, but overall, the project was a great success,” says Lynn.
According to Lynn, the couple invested more than 700 thousand Canadian dollars (equivalent to more than R$ 3.4 million) in the renovation of the property, which was sold in the fall of 2021, by the broker Brian Ellis, for the amount of 1.2 million dollars. Canadians (almost R$ 4.3 million), for the couple David and Julie Carswell.
“Our goal for this project was to save an empty church that could have been demolished by another buyer or abandoned. Also, using mostly reclaimed materials like barn wood and beams from a local barn, counter from a local store, doors from a local century old home,” says Lynn.
House church features three bedrooms and baths, eight-foot ceilings, kitchen with twelve-foot island, granite countertops, custom Mennonite cabinets, basement, laundry room and more.
“This is not a normal house, this is a nice house. The living room is fantastic, warm, inviting and spacious. Also featuring an artisanal bar area,” says broker Ellis.
The couple claims they dug deep into the history of the church with the help of a local historian who was able to provide us with all the details and photographs. “It looks like many beautiful memories were created in this stunning sacred place,” says Lynn.
