Christians celebrate the Holy Friday in Jerusalem with a procession through the Via Sacred, in the Old City, redoing what they believe was the path that Jesus Christ traveled to the crucifixion.
The faithful sang hymns and carried wooden crosses as they headed to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where Christians believe that Jesus was buried before resurrecting from the dead three days later.
The sacred road begins at the Ecce Homo Convent and leads to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and along the way there are the 14 “Stations of the Sacred Way.”
The first season is where Jesus is believed to be sentenced to death.
And the last one is the tomb where the faithful believe he was buried.
