Chiquititas turns 25 and gets a behind-the-scenes documentary

the documentary “Years later” about the backstage of the telenovela “Chiquititas” won the first trailer this Thursday (28), a date that marks the 25th anniversary of the program’s debut.

In just over three minutes, the images show behind-the-scenes footage of the recordings and testimonies of former members, such as Fernanda Souza, Bruno Gagliasso and the journalist and anchor at CNN Brazil Elisa Veeck.

In the statement sent to the press, Fernanda Souza, the protagonist Mili of the first seasons, says that the documentary is “ravishing”.

“Today I am 38 years old, so the documentary made us relive things that happened 25 years ago. I don’t know if I’ve experienced anything else so overwhelming in such a short space of time,” he says.

Journalist and anchor of CNN Express , former child actress Elisa Veeck began her career on television playing Fran, the protagonist of the second season. “At school, for example, I shared a room with Jonatas Faro and Kayky Brito. Where we lived, in San Isidro, in Greater Buenos Aires, Bruno Gagliasso was my next door neighbor. We were like a family,” she recalls.

Names like Nelson Freitas, Flávia Monteiro, Gisele Frade and Marcos Pasquim also give testimonies.

“Chiquititas” was recorded in partnership with the Argentine broadcaster TELEFE and the story shows orphaned children living in an orphanage. It was written by the author Cris Morena and originally made for the Argentinian audience. With the success in the neighboring country, the broadcaster SBT bought the rights to produce the national version.

The recordings were carried out in Argentina, to take advantage of the team and the structure that already existed, so the entire cast had to move to the country.

In the same year of its debut, the Chiquititas album won over 1 million copies and several products were launched, such as dolls, sticker albums and magazines. There were five seasons and the telenovela is remembered as a great phenomenon of Brazilian dramaturgy.

The premiere is scheduled for the second half of this year and the production will bring more than 50 testimonials.

With producer development Bituin Films the original idea is by the ex-child actor of the soap opera, Jander Veeck, and the direction is by Cristian de Ciancio, cameraman of the Argentine team at the time.
