Dedicated logic chips, DRAM chips, smartphone SoCs, and display drivers drive growth
Analyst firm IC Insights has updated its outlook for the current year related to the chip market. Analysts point out that in all 33 categories of these products, defined by the organization World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS), there is strong demand from end users.

Growth is expected in 32 categories, and in 29 of them – by 10% or more. This is the fundamental difference between the current situation and the market growth in previous years, which has usually been driven by success in only a few large categories.
However, these categories, as before, act as locomotives of growth. These include specialized logic chips for industrial electronics (this category is forecast to grow by 47%), DRAM memory chips (41%), specialized logic chips for automotive electronics (39%), specialized logic chips for consumer electronics (38%). processors for smartphones (34%), analog microcircuits for automotive electronics (31%) and display drivers (also 31%).
Overall market growth is projected at 24%.
