China: Chongqing’s foreign trade up 24% year on year

Chongqing’s foreign trade in southwest China stood at 720.49 billion yuan (about $ 113.19 billion) in January-November 2021, up 24% year-on-year, according to local customs data.

Chongqing’s exports rose to 463.11 billion yuan, up 23.9% over the same period, while its imports rose 24.1% to 257.38 billion yuan.

The city’s foreign trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the European Union and the United States stood at 114.23 billion yuan, 112.22 billion yuan and 107.89 billion yuan respectively in its eleven months21.

Chongqing’s trade with the countries of the international trade and economic initiative One Zone One Road, which promotes Beijing worldwide, was recorded at 197.26 billion yuan, with an annual increase of 25.7%.

During the same period, Chongqing’s most exportable products included laptops, tablets, and automobiles, while its imports included electronic circuits, microcircuit manufacturing equipment, and metal ores.
