It is reported that the car will receive the expected name – Chery Tiggo 9. The company is moving towards creating larger premium cars. Chery Tiggo 9 will be the Exeed T22, which is based on the Stellar concept car.
According to the source, Chery Tiggo 9 passes under the factory name T26. It is already known that the body length will be 4.8 m. This will allow Chery Tiggo 9 to surpass Geely Xingyue L, Changan CS75 Plus and other models in size.
Chery Tiggo 9 will be the first car of the manufacturer to be built on the basis of the new T2X platform. This is a modified M3X platform on which the Exeed TXL crossover was created. The car will be equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged Acteco engine, the power of which is 254 hp. The car is due out in the first half of next year.
From January to September 2021, Chery sold 24,688 new cars in Russia, which is 288% more than a year earlier. At the same time, sales of Tiggo 8 were 2124 units, and Tiggo 8 Pro was sold 3648 units.
