Chef Vivi welcomes Rodrigo Felício and resumes “Sessão de Segunda” project

There are people who complain that good gastronomic alternatives on Monday nights are rare. Perhaps the problem was minor during the existence of Capivara, a hideout that worked between 2016 and 2020 in Barra Funda.

It was a lifeline for the professional cooks’ night off and a creativity laboratory for Rodrigo Felício.

Although he is not on the way to extinguishing this impasse, the chef is about to reduce it. At least next Monday, August 15th, starting at 7pm.

“I decided to bring together exceptional products in a surprise menu, totally unprecedented”. In fact, the menu signals a moment of reflection and maturity for Felício.

Shy and extremely low-profile, it’s hard to get comments about his career in the kitchen. However, it can be said that he started in Korea, at Lua Palace; strengthened the foundations and techniques of French cuisine (in Paris, at La Casserole and La Brasserie Erick Jacquin); changed the concept of pizza in São Paulo with the opening of Carlos Pizza (where he was a pizza maker alongside chef-owner Lucho Nardelli) and then revolutionized product cuisine by harmonizing it with natural wines (already in the underground and authorial Capivara).

With dinner on the 15th, in addition to getting back to work, Rodrigo activates a project by his friend Viviane Gonçalves – the “Sessão de Segunda”.

“Chef Vivi is 10 years old, but it is still permeable to inspirations, changes, deconstructions. During the pandemic this meant a reduction of places and the incorporation of cold rooms for an innovative project. Now it’s time to also make it a stage for friends’ jam sessions”.

The debut was thought out very carefully. “It’s very symbolic to have Rô cooking. He was the one who welcomed me to DOM, although he won’t come to do a jam session literally, he has a strong bond with music and will cook in a format he’s never cooked before”.

Vivi’s speech reveals fragments of the past: the return to Brazil and the life of an intern after years as an award-winning chef in China, the musical history of her friend cook and the opening to a new phase.

On the other hand, it does not mention that these sessions should take place monthly until December, when Chef Vivi turns 11. For the celebration, by the way, the chef herself must take over the stove and serve authentic Chinese cuisine for the first time, as experienced in Beijing.

In the interim between dinner next week and the anniversary of the house, Viviane will receive other guests, including foreigners, always with allusions to Asia. Felício’s are still secret, but can be booked by (11) 99888-0064 or via direct through @chefvivicasa profile on Instagram. Warning: places are very limited!

Dinner on Monday, August 15th is R$395 per person.
