Scenes from a movie unfolded on the streets of Antwerp as a driver of a vehicle pursued by the police threw money out of the window!
As the newspaper reports Gazet van Antwerpen and republished by Brussels Timesthe incident took place on Saturday.
The car fled and police rounded up approx 10,000 euroshowever it is estimated that many of the notes were collected by passers-by.
The driver managed to elude the police, but later that night a man turned himself in to a police station Flanders claiming he was the one driving the vehicle. Police are investigating why the driver fled and threw money away.
Meanwhile, before the suspect turned himself in, authorities pursued another vehicle believing it to be the car they were looking for. Police eventually stopped the vehicle in Skarbeek, Brussels, only to find that it wasn’t the right car.
