The team of the popular messenger Telegram has launched its own Telegram Ad Platform. It is described on the promote.telegram.org page on the messenger’s official website.

Telegram sponsored messages or Sponsored messages appear in large public one-to-many channels with over 1000 subscribers. Advertising messages are limited to 160 characters. As the Telegram team promises, the advertisements are based solely on the topic of the public channels in which they are displayed.

The developers emphasize that no user data is collected or analyzed to display advertisements. Every user viewing a specific channel in Telegram sees the same advertisements. Telegram also does not track whether users click on an ad message and does not profile them based on their activity.
For their part, advertisers can choose the language and approximate theme of the channels on which their ads will be displayed. You can also select specific channels where specific ads will appear, or add specific channels where they won’t appear.
Telegram advertisements are currently in test mode. Telegram promises to start sharing ad revenues with the owners of public channels as soon as the ad messages are fully operational and allow Telegram to cover its main costs.
