5G arrived this Wednesday (6th) in Brasília, the first city to have the new mobile internet signal in operation in the country. And anyone who wants to have access to this new modality needs to check if the cell phone model they have supports this new technology.
Data from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) show that 67 cell phone models are able to connect to the 5G network. (See list below).
According to the advisor and vice president of Anatel, Moisés Moreira, it is recommended to contact the operator to make sure if it is possible to use 5G on the device.
Another possibility to find out if the device is compatible is to check the approval code stamped on the chassis (or in the product manual). For now, only products approved by Anatel can use 5G.
According to Anatel, after Brasília, 5G technology should reach Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, João Pessoa and São Paulo. The expectation of the agency’s advisor is that Brazilian urban regions will have 5G by January 2026.
