Prime Video released, this Thursday morning (23), the trailer for “Eu Sou: Celine Dion”, a documentary about the Canadian singer who will talk about her career and living with Stiff Person Syndrome.
The film will be directed by Irene Taylor, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2008 for “The Final Inch,” a short documentary about the eradication of polio.
The trailer for the film, which premieres on June 25th on Prime Video, gives evidence of Celine Dion's recovery process and how much she misses being able to go on stage to sing, while at the same time portraying iconic passages from her career.
Céline Dion shared her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022. This is a rare neurological disease that affects the central nervous system, mainly the brain and spinal cord, causing muscle spasms.
In people with the syndrome, the muscles in the trunk and abdomen gradually become stiffer. The muscles in the arms and legs may also be affected, but to a lesser extent. Generally, the syndrome leads to disability and stiffness of the entire body.
“I didn’t fight the disease, it’s still with me and forever,” said Céline Dion to Vogue France. “We will find, I hope, a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but I have to learn to live with it.”
“Five days a week I do athletic, physical and vocal therapy. I work on both my toes and knees, calves, fingers, singing, voice,” the singer revealed about her treatment.
