CASE VICTORY: Judge denies a new request for psychological assessment of Maicol

The court denied a new request from the defense of Maicol, the main suspect for the death of Vitória Regina de Souza, 17, to hold a psychological report.

The request sought to evaluate Maicol’s imputability that is, if he had a psychological conditions to understand the illicit character of what he did.


In the decision, the magistrate stated that, in addition to the investigated, he had the right not to produce evidence against him, the elements gathered so far indicate that the acts have been committed by someone who was fully aware of what he was doing.

The young woman disappeared while returning home and was found dead days later.

Case Reconstitution

The reconstitution of Vitória’s death was completed on Thursday (24), but was marked by criticism and setbacks in Cajamar (SP).

According to the defense of Maicol, the main suspect of the crime, the reconstitution did not occur properly.

“It simply was not realized. There was no dynamics of the alleged fact. No point was clarified. We were surprised,” the defense told the defense CNN .

The lawyers of the family of Vitória also expressed concern about the procedures adopted in the reconstitution, according to the CNN .

Initially, the simulated reproduction was scheduled for April 10, but was postponed to last Tuesday (22) and completed two days later.
