The main suspicion, and mother of baby Ana Beatriz, confessed that she killed her own daughter, asphyxiated with a pillow. The information was revealed by the Alagoas Civil Police during a press conference on Tuesday (15).
According to the delegate responsible for the investigations, the woman changed the version of the facts several times. At first he said he would have “given” the child. He then stated that the child had choked while breastfeeding. In another, and latest version, he confessed that he killed the asphyxiated baby with a pillow.
Still according to police, the mother tried to justify that the girl had not slept two nights and was crying a lot.
The woman was arrested in the act and a custody hearing should be held next Wednesday (16). The woman is still trapped at the disposal of justice.
Case
Ana Beatriz disappeared on the morning of Friday (11), in the municipality of Novo Lino (AL), located 100 kilometers from Maceió, when she was only 15 days.
The mother of the baby said she was waiting for a bus in the village Novo Eusébio, on the banks of BR-101, when she was approached by four criminals who took the child from their arms.
Subsequently, investigations and testimonials of witnesses contradicted the initial version of the mother.
The Alagoas Civil Police had already informed that one of Ana Beatriz’s disappearance lines of investigation is that she was lifeless.
Death information was confirmed to CNN by the Civil Police of the State of Alagoas on Tuesday afternoon.
In all, according to the Civil Police, Five versions were presented to the police for the mother.
During the investigations a suspect was approached in Pernambuco, but was released after proving innocence.
