The Carnival weekend promises rain in the main destinations of the festivities. Rain showers are forecast in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and there is also the possibility of rapid rain during the day in Recife and Salvador.
According to Climatempo, in Salvador, during the four days of Carnival, temperatures vary between a minimum of 23ºC and a maximum of 30ºC. The sun appears with some clouds and there is a chance of quick rain during the day and at night on Saturday (10) and Tuesday (13). On Sunday (11) and Monday (12), the day will have cloudy periods and rain at any time.
For partygoers in Recife, temperatures will be around 25ºC minimum and 30ºC maximum between Saturday (10) and Tuesday (13). The days will be marked by sun with some clouds and quick rain during the day and at night in the capital of Pernambuco. On Tuesday (13), it could rain at any time. In Fortaleza, the forecast is also sunny with rain during the day and at night. The capital of Ceará must have a minimum of 24ºC and a maximum of 30ºC during the holiday.
Between Saturday (10) and Sunday (11), a cold front will pass along the coast of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, but will not have the strength to cause changes in the weather. It may rain at the Anhembi sambadrome and Marquês de Sapucaí before the parades, but without major disruptions.
In the state of São Paulo, the combination of heat and humidity could bring heavy rain to parts of the metropolitan region and the interior during the weekend. Saturday (10) should be firm weather in Bauru, Ourinhos and Assis, in the southwest of the state. In other regions, there are chances of typical summer showers, but without high volumes of rain in São Carlos, Ribeirão Preto and Franca.
For those who went down to the coast of São Paulo, the forecast is sunny with muggy weather and showers from the afternoon onwards between Saturday (10) and Monday (12). On Tuesday (13), there are risks of storms, especially on the south coast and in the Baixada Santista region. The day will also have a change in weather and heavier rain showers in the metropolitan region and in the regions of Sorocaba, São Roque and Campinas, with the arrival of a new cold front.
In the south of the country, Porto Alegre could break the heat record for 2024 this weekend. The current record is 36.5°C and Climatempo predicts 37°C for Saturday (10) and 39°C for Sunday (11). In Santa Catarina, the capital Florianópolis could record a new heat record for this year during Carnival with 36°C on Monday (12).
