«It all starts from school, thanks to the power of the imagination: I looked at the blackboard, maybe the sets were drawn, and daydreamed. A real guitar, of course, but also a stage, colored lights and chewing gum, the pink one. Because I was convinced that a rock star should know how to blow bubbles ».
A bedroom full of posters?
“I lost my mind when they gave me an Elvis Presley cassette, I consumed it in the cassette player. Among other things, in Sicily these were the years of feuds, I often saw a man lying under the white cloth, only his shoes sticking out, always of fine workmanship because they care in the South: here, when reality didn’t put me at risk. my ease, I dreamed. «I was lucky enough to be born into a family of dreamers: a Venetian mother and a Sicilian father, a marriage of cultures that found its maximum expression in food. “In reality, the album was almost ready before the Covid explosion. In the pandemic I wrote “I wanted to be a rock star”, “Numerical harmonies” e “Learning from trees to walk”. In this I say that “something very special is about to happen” because I have always had the belief that adversity can turn into opportunity. I saw this stop as a very important signal, I had the feeling that we were running too much: the human being has his time, gestation, for example, lasts nine months ».
Here, in fact, eight years ago Carlo was born with assisted fertilization. With such a special relationship with her father behind her, how did she manage to make up for the lack of a male figure?
«When I decided to tackle this path, I knew very well there was this risk: I often thought about it and it was not an easy choice. Fortunately, I have an extended family and many friends around, he has found the male figures of reference. When today I propose to him to write a letter to meet his father, he tells me that he does not care, that this is his serenity ».
