Carlos Santana is taken to the hospital in a hurry before the show

The composer and guitarist Carlos Santana, 77, is, according to reports, recovering after a health scare . The legendary musician passed a medical emergency before a presentation In Texas, this Tuesday (22).

Michael Vrionis, president of Universal Tone Management and representative of Santana, shared a statement to the magazine People: “It is with deep disappointment that I need to inform everyone that the show tonight in San Antonio was postponed.”

“Mr. Santana was on the scene (Majestic Theater) preparing for the show when he had an episode that was diagnosed as dehydration,” the statement continued. “By extreme precaution and in mind the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the wisest.”

Vrionis added that the Rock and Roll Fame member “is well and eager to return to San Antonio soon, as well as continue his tour of the United States.”

“Thank you all for all for understanding,” concluded the statement. “The show will be rescheduled soon.”

THE CNN contacted Vrionis for more comments.

The incident happens a few months after Santana suffered a fall and break a finger, which resulted in the postponement of his residence in Las Vegas.

“From heart, we want to thank you for attending so much energy and love in the cold and rain. You danced, sang and faced the elements as true warriors of Light,” said a message on Santana’s official Instagram, published on Tuesday. “Your warmth and passion illuminated the night more than any spotlight could. It was really an honor to share the music of our hearts with you.”
