A cannibal who brutally murdered and ate the genitals of a student was sentenced to life in prison. Mark Latunski, 52, appeared before a Michigan judge Thursday for the Dec. 24, 2019, slaying of Kevin Bacon, 25. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Latunsky pleaded guilty in September to the murder of Bacon, whom he met through the dating app Grindr, and that he was eating parts of his body, including a testicle, at his home in Bennington Township. The disappearance of the 25-year-old student, who also worked as hairstylisthis parents had told the authorities, when he did not appear at the Christmas family dinner at their home.
“In your sick, twisted mind, you probably don’t think you did anything wrong,” Bacon’s mother Hannah wrote. “This Christmas, I hope you suffer like we do”.
Earlier, the 25-year-old’s father had said he wants to see his son’s killer rot in prison.
In his confession last September, the 52-year-old cannibal described the events leading up to Bacon’s stabbing but the gruesome acts he committed on the unfortunate man’s corpse. Latunsky admitted to eating pieces of his victim’s flesh, including a testicle.
The 52-year-old’s defense team had attempted to present him as mentally incompetent to stand trial, however the authorities judged that at the time of the crime he was capable of realizing the gravity of his actions and that, although he was facing Psychological problemshe knew very well what he was doing, broadcasts the Daily Mail.
It is worth noting that in the past there had been two separate complaints against Latunsky by men who had “wake up” bound in the basement of his house, and they had managed to escape from his hands. One of them had told the authorities that he believed that the 52-year-old drugged him and that he wished to keep him a prisoner in his house.
