Canada: Host reportedly fired for… letting her hair go gray

Claims that a popular television news anchor in Canada lost her job after “going gray” have sparked anger and mistrust at one of the country’s largest media organizations.

In a two-minute video posted on Twitter Monday, Lisa Laflamme announced that she has been ousted as anchor of CTV National News, one of the nation’s most-watched evening shows.

“At 58, I thought I would have much more time to tell more stories that affect our daily lives,” he said, among other things.

The Canadian presenter stopped dyeing her hair in the midst of the pandemic, thus allowing their natural color to show and declaring herself fully liberated.

However, on Thursday, August 18, Michael Melling, a senior executive at CTV, clashed with Laflamme, with the anchor’s contract ending in disgrace, according to a report by Guardian.

The departure of the well-known and beloved Canadian presenter shocked the entire country, with many citing ageist racism and sexism as the reasons for her dismissal.

Channel executives immediately denied accusations of sexism and said that Laflamme’s departure from the channel was determined by changes in viewer preferences.
