Camera phone: here is the brand new smartphone that takes photos with artificial intelligence

With a spectacular presentation on the island of Bali, Indonesia, Oppo has unveiled its new top-of-the-range smartphone, Find X8 Pro (1199.99 euros).

The performance is very high and the design refined, but, above all, it is a perfect device for those who love taking photos. Oppo Find X8 Pro is in fact, probably, the best camera phone around given that the famous DxOMark portal already indicated the predecessor Oppo Find X7 Ultra as the best and this further improves the camera equipment.

Find X8 Pro, what a photo it takes

On the back stands out the black disc which houses four lenses of 50 megapixels each, created in collaboration with the historic Hasselblad brand. The classic 15 (wide angle) and 23 mm optics and the double periscopic lens (a solution seen on only a few competitors) with 73 and 135 mm lenses. We put it to the test in the most Instagrammable locations in Bali and it gave us brilliant shots in every situation. If you are really in denial, a massive dose of artificial intelligence comes to support. For example to help zoom even from great distances or to improve grainy or blurry photos. The algorithms are able to precisely isolate even the smallest details, such as individual strands of hair or intricate hand-held objects, resulting in truly captivating portraits. The other functions of this “AI Phone”, as it is defined by Oppo itself, are the creation of filters and cartoon styles with the included AI Studio app, the transcription of voice recordings, the generation of texts, reading with an artificial voice and summaries. There is also Google’s “circle and find” function, which allows an intuitive visual search directly with your finger on the screen.

To bring to the concert

Oppo Find X8 Pro also has a dedicated mode for concerts and live events. Even when you are away from the stage, you can still capture sharp shots at 20x or even 30x magnification with enough clarity to capture the atmosphere of the event. In this mode, which is activated automatically, lights, performance and atmosphere are then enhanced.

Refined materials and design

At just over 8 millimeters thick, the body of Oppo Find The back houses a massive camera disc, which despite being 40% less protruding than the previous model, still attracts attention. The device weighs 215 grams and offers two color variants: Space Black and Pearl White, the latter with a fascinating iridescence under sunlight, like a real pearl.
