Caixa Econômica Federal starts payroll loan operations for Auxilio Brasil

Caixa Econômica Federal started this Tuesday (11) the operations of the consigned credit of Auxílio Brasil. The loan model was approved by Congress and the Federal Government for program beneficiaries. In addition to Caixa, the Ministry of Citizenship reported that another eleven institutions are qualified to offer the service.

In a press conference, Caixa informed that until the beginning of this Tuesday afternoon, 23,500 contracts had already been signed, totaling a volume of R$ 61.3 million in credit granted.

The interest rate operated by Caixa will be 3.45% per month, totaling a rate of 41.4% per year. Also at the press conference, the vice president of Retail Business, Thays Cintra, explained that the interest rate is above other payroll models, such as the INSS, as it is a new product.

“Our risk area does the simulation, and it’s technical data that we don’t have access to. The analysis considers the entry and exit of beneficiaries, and considers that this can generate losses.”, he explains.

The maximum amount of the loan installment is up to 40% of the amount received by the beneficiary. In addition, the amount can be paid in up to 24 months, with a minimum installment amount of R$ 15.

To apply for the loan, the request must be made by the family member who has received the benefit for more than 90 days, and who has not failed to attend any summons from the Ministry of Citizenship. Caixa also made financial education tips available to users.

Payroll requests can be made through the Caixa Tem app, in addition to the more than 26,000 Caixa physical outlets, such as branches, lottery and Caixa Aqui correspondents.
