Singer Sebastião da Silva, better known as Cain part of the country music duo with Abel . The artist was 80 years old and the cause of death was not disclosed.
Born in Monte Azul Paulista, the musician moved to Marília as a child, where he began his musical career.
“Since he was little he sang and as a teenager, in addition to performing the main compositions of country music and viola fashion, he learned the profession of shoemaker in Marília”, recalled the Marilia City Hall when announcing the death of the public figure.
“In 1966, alongside his partner José Vieira, Abel, he won a national guitar competition on the Geraldo Meirelles program (who suggested the name of the duo). He influenced generations of artists from the country and country universe, such as singers Daniel and Leonardo and the country duo Zezé di Camargo and Luciano”, they added.
Known for music “Final Goodbye” , the duo remained together until 2011, when Abel passed away at the age of 81. After that, Cain began to introduce himself as “Cain and Friends”.
Throughout his career, Cain also entered politics, becoming a councilor at the Marília City Council, in addition to working as a radio host and talk show host.
The wake took place this Friday morning (29), at 10:30 am. The burial began at 5pm, at Cemitério da Saudade, in the interior city of São Paulo.
