The Chamber suspects that the rupture of a fiber optic cable has caused the breakdown in the voting system of the PEC of Benefits, on Tuesday night.
According to allies of the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira, he wants to go to the end of the investigation because he does not consider that the breakdown was normal since the two systems that feed the internet in the house fell. Lira was talking to members of the Federal Police until around 4 am this Wednesday to understand the reasons that led to the problem.
The PF informed the Chamber that it will summon the companies responsible for the system to hear them. One of the companies warned that a cable had broken. The preliminary investigation reports, however, are not conclusive.
One of the suspicions is that an accident at a construction site in the city may have broken the fiber optic cable, which at first would not explain the problem having affected the two Internet systems of the Chamber.
In the voting session, there were 467 registered deputies. However, 40 parliamentarians were unable to vote, even so the text was approved in the first round. Of these, 25 parliamentarians were outside BrasÃlia and others registered their presence but left the plenary to vote remotely.
Voting will resume this Wednesday because the Chamber’s internet system was re-established after assistance from the Senate.
