The Alagoas Civil Police (PC-AL) instituted a Inquiry to investigate a case of domestic violence involving 33-year-old businesswoman Giuliana Omena, who reported her ex-husband and partner, Igor Fabiano Santana, for physical, psychological and patrimonial assaults over nearly 16 years of relationship.
The complaint gained repercussion after Giuliana published a video on social networks on Monday (21), which reveals details of the violence suffered.
“I lived an extremely abusive relationship for many years, although it was completely opposed to what you saw on social networks and what I showed,” he said.
She explained that it was slow to understand the severity of the situation. “In my head I thought it lived isolated and extremely punctual episodes. What was definitely not was,” he said.

According to the delegate Ana Luíza Nogueira, coordinator of the specialized police stations in care for women (Deams), the investigation investigates conducts provided for in the Maria da Penha Law. These include psychological violence – which includes intimidation, humiliation and manipulation – and heritage violence, such as the destruction of goods and blocking of finance access.
Giuliana reported that she did not have access to the company’s accounts or even money for basic expenses. “Although the accounts are in my name, I don’t have access to them. I needed money this week to buy bread and I didn’t have it,” he said.
In another passage, he says: “I could never have access to a pix. I had a credit card for about seven or eight months… Then it was canceled. I couldn’t ask for a medicine, I had no autonomy.”
The businesswoman also reported episodes of emotional violence and heritage destruction. “My ex-husband breaking my office while my store was open in full operation in December last year, it was already extreme violence. All my collaborators heard what happened,” he said. She stated that, out of shame and fear of harming the business, she collaborated with the lie that there was a work in progress. “The work was my office being broken and me being intimidated.”
Fearful for his own life, Giuliana even left Brazil. “Unfortunately, I fear for my life. I am very afraid of what can happen,” he said. She is already back in Maceió and will testify to the police on Friday (25).
Lawyer Amanda Montenegro, who represents Giuliana, said her ex-husband joined the company’s corporate board in 2023, through a document signed without the proper knowledge of the businesswoman. Also according to the lawyer, the victim spent 15 days outside the country and is already back to Maceió. Giuliana will give testimony tomorrow (25).
The defense seeks the criminal liability of Igor Santana, the dissolution of the stable union and the restitution of the deviated assets. “The former partner exercised full control over his finances, preventing her from accessing bank accounts, credit cards and all the assets acquired with the store’s own money,” said the lawyer.
