Budgets ‘to encourage staff’

Before, when I saw the importance they give to the General State Budgets (PGE), it puzzled me, because I thought that it was reduced to putting on paper what we were going to spend, to enter and little else.

There is more, because behind the numbers there are objectives to achieve and behind, a philosophy. If I want expenses not to exceed income it will be because I think that is what I would do at home. Someone will accuse me of being austere and I will answer that austerity is spending with your head.

If I do not like austerity, I will spend what I consider convenient and then I will try to compensate with taxes and credits that have two points to consider: when to return them and what interest to pay.

We already have Budgets. Due to various circumstances, these are the first of the current Government. Until now, we were dealing with the last of Cristóbal Montoro. In other words, the coalition government followed the philosophy of the popular.

It seems that everyone accepts that reality will not have much to do with what is budgeted, just as electoral promises are not made to fulfill them.

That makes me tempted not to start studying the PGE proposal, because if we are not going to respect it, I ask myself: why should I worry about its content?

And he replied that a little out of professional seriousness and a little out of respect for those who have worked to prepare them.

When it comes to doing numbers, it is convenient to say where we started. In other words, if I start from the assumption that business will go like a shot, I can count on taxes going up, unemployment going down, people buying more and consumption going up. … If I start from what is happening now, with everything closed and very high collective demoralization, the numbers will be different, but it is possible that the Government will make them demanding, if only to encourage the staff.

I already have the draft PGE approved by the Government, which is going to go to the Cortes for approval.

I start by doing what not to do: read the comments before the original document. I stumble upon two sentences: a) “They are a requiem for austerity” (Sanchez and Iglesias); b) “Business outrage for some unreal and ideological PGE” (Employers).

Thus, doubting if they are a requiem or an ideologized unreality, I study them. I will tell you.
