Brazilian investment bank BTG Pactual will launch Mynt platform for direct investments in BTC and ETH in the fourth quarter of this year. In the future, the bank will add support for other cryptoassets.
According to The Rio Times, Latin America’s largest investment bank BTG Pactual has announced plans to launch a cryptocurrency platform. BTG Pactual became the first major financial institution in Brazil to enter the cryptocurrency market directly.
BTG Pactual’s cryptocurrency arm called Mynt will begin operations in Q4 2021. Customers of BTG Pactual Digital and BTG + digital bank will have access to direct investments in BTC and ETH. André Portilho, head of digital assets at BTG Pactual, said:
“We will first open up access to the two largest cryptoassets on the market, but over time we will add support for other cryptocurrencies. We will launch a full-fledged platform for working with assets on the blockchain. ”
Mynt will also publish educational information about cryptocurrency technologies. BTG Pactual ranks among the largest investment banks in Latin America and offers wealth management, corporate lending, asset management, sales and trading services.
BTG Pactual has been studying the cryptocurrency and blockchain market for several years. In 2019, the bank announced plans to use the Tezos blockchain for STO, the volume of which could reach $ 1 billion.
