BRUNA CASE: See what you know about USP student death

The São Paulo Civil Police investigates the death of Bruna Oliveira da Silva, 28, a student at the University of São Paulo (USP) found lifeless in the east of the state capital. The main suspect in the crime, Esteliano José Madureira, 43, was on the run and was found Dead on the night of Wednesday (23) on Morumbi Avenue, in São Paulo. Disappearance of Bruna and body found

Bruna was missing since the 13th of this month after leaving the boyfriend’s house in Butantã, in the west of São Paulo, where the university where he studied is located.

The young woman use the subway back to her home in Itaquera, in the East Zone, where she intended to find her 7 -year -old son with her grandfather.

Upon arriving at Terminal Itaquera, around 10 pm, Bruna sent a message to her boyfriend asking a pix to request an application car home. The amount was transferred, but Bruna did not use the service.

The last online activity on the young woman on WhatsApp was at 10:21 pm. After that, Bruna’s cell phone discharged and there was no more contact with family and friends.

Four days after the disappearance, the corpse was located near Fatec Itaquera, in the east of São Paulo, with evident signs of violence last Thursday (17).

Images from a monitoring camera, released last Sunday (20), record the moment when student Bruna leaves a bus terminal. Other cameras show places where the young woman should have passed to follow her way home, and did not appear.

This Tuesday (22), was released a new video of security cameras that shows Bruna being followed by a man.

On the date, the Public Security Secretariat reported that the State Department of Homicides and Protection of Persons (DHPP) identified the perpetrator of the crime and performs steps to locate and arrest it.

Police releases image of the suspect and man is found dead

The Civil Police released, last Wednesday (23), the image of Esteliano José Madureira, 43 years old pointed out as the young woman’s killer. The man has nothing to do with the victim, according to the investigation. The suspect had the temporary arrest decreed by the court for strong evidence of involvement in the crime.


The next day, this Thursday (24), the man was Found dead on Wednesday night (23) on Morumbi Avenue, in São Paulo, about 35 kilometers away from the place where Bruna disappeared.

The body was found wrapped in a blue canvas on site. As they opened the canvas, agents found Estelian’s body with their hands and feet tied and had several lesions produced by a sharp instrument on the trunk – reaching chest and abdomen – at the back of the neck and anus.

The investigation points out that the suspect was executed by the CRIME COURT OF THE FIRST COMMAND OF THE CAPITAL (CCP) . The man would have been raptured in the region where he lives in the East Zone tortured in a community and left on Morumbi Avenue.

Esteliano was a drug user and helped marketers to assemble and dismantle newsstands in the Itaquera subway region, where Bruna landed the night she was killed. The man lived in a community located 300 meters from the place where Bruna’s body was located.

Police say residents of the region wanted to find out who was responsible for the girl’s death. Women’s clothing were found at the suspect’s house.
