Brooklyn: The driver who hit bicyclists and pedestrians is facing “mental disorders”.

He is being arraigned today the truck driver who ran over bicyclists and pedestrians in his attempt to escape from the police, yesterday Monday, at Brooklyn of New York.
Nine people were injured and one of them died in hospital.

It is about a 44-year-old who he was taken with severe head injuries and the doctors were unable to keep him alive.

In a video documentary broadcast by WABC-TV, part of the pursuit of the pickup truck by a police patrol car can be seen. A pedestrian escapes at the last moment before being swept away by the speeding vehicle.

Weng Shor rented it truck on February 1 from Florida and he was due to deliver it next month, according to the New York Times.

The 62-year-old has previously been convicted of knife attacks, while his relatives describe him as “schizophrenic». He served a 17-month prison sentence for stabbing his brother, in 2015 in Las Vegas. He spent almost a year in prison for stabbing someone in a fight in 2020.

“He’s schizophrenic!” his brother-in-law, Darryl Singer, told the New York Post. “I’ve been saying for a long time that he will be killed one daya”, he added.

Steven Shore, the 62-year-old’s son, told the Associated Press that his father suffers from serious mental disorders and is receiving medication, as reported by the Athens News Agency.
