Britain: Rishi Sunak MP accused of racist behavior against Bahraini activist

For threatening behavior with racist characteristics Conservative MP Robert Stewart is accused by the London police.

British media have identified the man as Sayed Ahmed Aluandaei, a 36-year-old pro-democracy activist from Bahrainwho claims he was tortured in his country and now lives in exile in London.

A video released by the BBC shows a man accusing Stewart, who was near the Bahraini embassy, ​​of taking money from that country. The deputy replies to him: “Go back to Bahrain” and “You are taking money from my country, go away».

Scotland Yard said the 73-year-old MP is accused of “threatening behavior or statements, with racist overtones” which may “cause annoyance, fear or anxiety”. Stewart admitted in an interview with Sky News in December that his reaction was a “mistake” on his part.

A spokesman for Prime Minister Sunak declined to comment when asked to comment on the case.
