Britain: One million households cut streaming services to save money

Punctuality seems to be hitting the pockets of Brits, who are looking for ways to save money. Thus they are forced to cancel their subscriptions to services streaming according to consumer behavior analytics firm Kantar Worldpanel.

A report in the newspaper “The Guardian” highlights that the total number of homes in the UK with at least one paid subscription has fallen by 937,000 between January and September. According to the company more than 16 million UK households pay for at least one subscription video on demand service.

One million households have stopped streaming services. The reason people cancel them is the need to save moneysaid Dominic Sunebo from Kantar Worldpanel.

The two series of the year that the audience was waiting for were the Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon and The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power. Despite record ratings for HBO and Amazon, the series did not prevent further declines in UK subscriptions. Specifically in the third quarter of 2022, 234,000 households in United Kingdom canceled their subscriptions.
