The actress Nicola Coughlan famous for playing Penelope Featherington in “Bridgerton” revealed that he had included in his contract the request for a version of the series without inappropriate scenes to show your Catholic parents .

“It’s literally written in my contract. People think I'm saying this as a joke. I just don't want to. I grew up in an Irish Catholic family. That’s not how we operate,” Coughlan said in an interview with SiriusXM Hits 1 radio, according to Independent.

According to the actress, her mother did not react well to the number of scenes involving nudity in the first season of the Netflix series: “When she saw 'Bridgerton' for the first time, she didn't know it would be so raunchy.”

“And then you see an ass, Jonathan Bailey's lovely ass, about two minutes into the first episode. And she said, 'What is this?' But now she thinks it’s fantastic and really funny,” she added.

Considering that the third season of “Bridgerton” should highlight the romance between Penelope and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), the actress decided to prepare.

Speaking about the couple's hottest on-screen moments, Coughlan said: “We broke a piece of furniture while we were filming one of those scenes.”

But she said she had fun during the recording. “I didn't know what it would be like, but it's a bit like a scene where they say, 'Okay, let's do this, this and this.' But then they gave us freedom, we had a lot of say in how we would do those scenes and what we wanted to do. And that makes you feel very empowered,” said the actress.

The first part of the new season of “Bridgerton” will be available on Netflix on May 16. The second will only be released on June 13th.
