Three Brazilians — a woman and her two children — were seriously injured after an air attack, this Saturday (1st), in the city of Saddikine, in the Qana area, in southern Lebanon.
The circumstances of the bombing are still unclear, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The three were at home at the time of the attack.
The 30-year-old woman is in serious condition. Her 10-year-old daughter suffered serious injuries to her leg and had to undergo surgery. The nine-year-old son is stable.
The Brazilians are under medical care at the Lebanese Italiano Hospital, in Tire, in the south of the country, according to reports made by two sources at the CNN .
As shown by CNN Itamaraty confirmed that three Brazilians were injured in the attack, but there are still no further details officially.
The Brazilian embassy in Beirut recommended this Saturday that Brazilian citizens living in Lebanon avoid staying in the south of the country — the region that borders the north of Israel — and in the border areas. It is the third warning issued since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
“If you are not in Lebanon, do not travel to the country. For Brazilian nationals who do not consider it essential to stay in Lebanon, the Embassy recommends that they consider the precaution of leaving the country until its return to normality”, it informs.
The embassy recommends that citizens follow the safety instructions of local authorities, reinforce precautionary measures – especially in the south of the country – and not take part in crowds and protests.
“For Brazilian nationals who deem it essential to stay in Lebanon, avoid residing in the south of the country or traveling to that region, especially border areas”, says the statement.
Southern Lebanon, an area monitored with concern by the Brazilian embassy in the country, is dominated by Hezbollah.
Cells of the Lebanese Shiite militant organization have been attacked in recent months by Israeli forces during the escalating war between Israel and Hamas.
