In a note, the president of the FecomercioSP Tourism Board, Mariana Aldrigui, says that the numbers should remain positive between October this year and February 2023, due to a combination of factors such as the World Cup, the high season with no restrictions on mobility and the search for Brazilian destinations as an alternative to traveling abroad.
The FecomercioSP survey is based on information from the Annual Survey of Services and the Monthly Survey of Services by IBGE, with a focus on activities that are wholly or partially related to tourism. The numbers are updated monthly using the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA).
